It’s incredible to see how life changes, in a good way of course. It grows like a tree. Love between the two becomes a family of three. I was ecstatic when I heard my dear friends wereÂ expecting their first child.Â I could only imagine what the little one would look like

.Â When I sawÂ baby Areeb for the first time in the hospital, I saw the eyes of his mom, the smile of his daddy, and his little toes were simply adorable. Three months later I got to photograph his cute little face. He smiled, he criedÂ and then he fell asleep, it’s a tiring job after all {to be photograph that is:)}.Â That’s how that evening went. At the end of the day, we came out with a greatÂ set of pictures, that I hope his parents would cherish forever.

How do I begin this post! I have known Don from my early days in California. When I was all alone here, struggling without any friends in a new town where I knew no one but the people I just met at work, Don was one of the ones, at my work, who made me feel like a friend they had known for years. I remember the day when Don helped me bringing home the very first and only furniture for my new apartment…a papasan chair from Pier 1.

The chair was so wide that it wouldn’t fit in my car. I met Audra at the office Christmas party. That year, Don and Audra invited us (Jason was in Ca by that time) over to their family Christmas event; they didn’t want us to feel lonely and missing families during the holidays. I was extremely touched by the invite. Although we couldn’t make it to the party that day, I remain thankful for the kindness this couple had shown to us from the very beginning. I don’t think I ever told them how I felt about it. So, Don and Audra – if you are reading this…THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for making us feel like home.

Years have passed, all of us have gone through a lot over the years. But the biggest event of all has been the new addition to the Wake family. David Alan Wake joined the family just around the Thanksgiving time last year. Don and Audra were visiting Sacramento last week when I had a chance to meet little David for the very first time. He seemed to be the cutest little thing with the most beautiful smile and big, magical eyes. And his hair…priceless I haven’t seen Don and Audra like this ever before, they are in love with this little man and he sure brings a lot of joy to this family. We met up again over their portrait session the following weekend. It was a joy capturing their family moments. I was getting a little teary looking at them while editing the images. I hope these bring back the memories of their time in California as they grow into the life in Texas.

I have known this little boy from the day one of his life. And I have to say that I’m in love with his little toes, the golden hair and his bright blue eyes. I love this little munchkin…little Liam. He is a trooper, he is strong, smart and obviously the cutest! Liam turned One yesterday. I couldn’t have missed this opportunity to capturing this bg event. He wasn’t feeling the best, but he let me take some snaps. I hope he doesn’t hate me for the thirty-minute of pain he had to go through for the pictures in the morning

Seems like baby Liam was born yesterday. Time goes by so quickly; Liam is now 6-month old. I had the pleasure of capturing his mom and dad’s wedding pictures, then maternity pictures. And now I get to capture Liam’s beautiful blue eyes! I love this little munchkin; he is the cutest, nicest boy ever. I’m so excited to watching him grow and capturing many more of his growing up memories. Hope he enjoyes looking at these pictures when he is no longer a little one!

Lili’s first birthday

It’s crazy how time flies! It was only little over a year ago when I met Katarina, Joe and Nicolas on a dusty shoe walk for our new home. A couple months later we moved into the brand new neighborhood in town. Nine days later Joe, Kat and Nicolas moved in as our immediate neighbor. We got to know the family better and became really good friends. During that time Katarina was expecting her second child. She asked if I would shoot her maternity session. So, I did! And that was just the beginning!

Her beautiful baby girl was born a month later. They named her Lili Ana. We went to see her at the hospital, I was thrilled to hold her in my arms for the first time! Four days later, I went to visit her again, this time I took my camera for fun and took a couple shots of the newborn. That picture is now hanging as a beautiful canvas art on their wall. Then came Christmas, followed by Lili’s Baptism. I had the honor to document both the events for her. Two weeks ago little Lili turned ONE. And guess who was their to capture her celebration? You got it! They had a party over the weekend, but I was out to SF shooting another session. But I was there on her real birthday to make sure that her cake-eating-experience didn”t go undocumented.

I really can’t believe that Lili is a year a old already! I just saw her yesterday and she was walking all over the place. I don’t know how she can get any cuter, but she is becoming even more adorable day by day. I mentioned it earlier and I have to mention it again, I love this little girl! It’s been amazing to capture the big moments for her first year, I’m blessed to have her around.

Babies do it just right

Things have been pretty crazy lately. But, no matter what happens in life, babies can make everything look simple and beautiful. Just when I started breaking down with heart breaking news from my homeland, baby Ethan made it all good for me for that moment with his one BIG smile. Ethan is now three months old. They grow big sooo fast…sigh! Here’s to you Ethan…

Lili’s baptism

It was an amazing experience for me to attend Lili’s Baptism ceremony last Sunday. The event took place at Saint Anna Greek Orthodox Church in Roseville. It’s a fairly new Church in town, located on top of a hill on Roseville Pkwy. It rained non-stop on Sunday. A lot of the guests including Lili’s God Parents travelled from Modesto, CA for the ceremony. After the ceremony we all went to Old Spaghetti Factory for the reception.

I had the honor to capture this beautiful ceremony for little Lili. I can’t believe she is already so big! She is now crawling all over and trying to say words like mama-baba. Watching her grow so closely has been awesome for me. I LOVE this little girl; I wish her the very best in every step of her journey. Congratulations Lili Ana, may you be blessed with all the happiness in life.

Samaira

One of the great things about having long term friendship is that we get to celebrate the journey of life with our long term friends. We become a part of their joyous occassions like birthdays, weddings, baby births, etc or that of the dreadful moments like mornings before exams!!! Tahseen is one such a friend who I have been sharing my significant moments with. At this point in life I only know that I am going to grow old with her, in a good way of course

This post is not about Tahseen or I, but her baby girl Samaira. Almost seven months ago Tahseen and her husband Ahsan brought in a beautiful baby girl to this world. They named her Samaira. Last month I had the priviledge to meet Samaira at their beautiful residence in Atlanta, GA. My heart melted as soon as I saw her. Tahseen has always been a part of me. Now this little munchkin also holds a special place in my heart. Like the meaning of her name, she is enchanting! She is so tiny. She has a way of keeping her arms when someone is holding her. She is very observant like her mother (as I was told) and has the sharp eyes of her dad. She is a darling!

Tatum

I finally met Tatum during the Thanksgiving holiday. Her mom Candace and I have been friends from my first day at college(literally). For the last one year I only saw in pictures how beautiful Tatum was! I was thrilled to finally see her in person. I was eagerly waiting for their arrival and when they got here, Tatum greeted me with her beautiful smile. She was a bundle of joy; I missed her so dearly after they left on Saturday.

I have spent several Thaksgivings and Christmases with Candace and her family. I was ecstatic that Candace, Charles and Tatum were with us this year. The Turkey was delicious for sure, but the company was a precious one. I was thankful for the friendship we shared all these years and I hope to preserve this for many more years to come…
