Old Folsom Engagement : Vini + Avie

Meet Avie and Vini…an amazingly co0l couple who I had the pleasure of meeting last summer. It was a quick meeting before Vini headed back to Vancouver, we just talked about their wedding and their vision for photography. My second meeting with them was on their engagement session..just a couple days before their big day! It felt like we have been friends forever, was just picking up the pieces from where we left off.

We picked Old Folsom for their engagement session. The surrondings of Sutter street, the rainbow bridge. the cool vintage setting was just perfect for their personality. I had a great time knowing more about this down-to-earth couple. And I realized how FUN the next two days were going to be. Potrero Hill San Francisco Portraits : Saeeda + Shaker

Shaker and I go back more than a decade when we first started college together. So many things happened between then and now. Life for us had taken many different directions but now we are pretty much back in a similar circle of life. I remember when Shaker visited Sacramento with his new wife Saeeda. We took a trip to the Capitol park and I took a few snaps of the couple just for fun. Saeeda was super excited with the idea of photography; soon after that she started experimenting with cameras and lenses. Years have passed since then and now she is a fine photographer herself.

In the middle of this year Saeeda contacted me for their anniversary portraits in san Francisco. We finally made some time and headed to Potrero Hill for their session. San Francisco weather couldn’t be any better! Sun was shining, and it wasn’t even cold for an October day. The city view was amazing, of course! We photographed around my favorite kinds of spots, the nooks and corners of the unvisited parts of the city. Hope this pictures preserve Shaker and Saeeda’s memory of this fine day in San Francisco.

Old Sacramento Engagement: Brevenna + Rick

It was early on a Saturday morning when we headed out to Old Sacramento for Rick and Brevenna’s engagement session. We usually see girls in the foreground of all the wedding planning. But it’s Rick this time who is on top of everything when it come to their wedding. It was too bad that I couldn’t be available to photograph their wedding in Fall, but I was excited at the oppportunity to photograph their engagement session last weekend. I loved brevenna’s pick of outfit for the shoot. It was SO her! Mod, stylish and chich. Rick was rocking it as well. The couple knows how to have fun.

Sacramento Indian Engagement: Radha + Bala

My meeting with Radha and her family wasn’t an ordinary one. I’m usually very nervous when meeting with the families, but within five minutes of talking to Radha’s parents, I was smiling ear-to-ear. I had to pinch myself to realize that I really wasn’t dreaming. I learned that Bala can somewhat speak and understand Bengali. My husband came out to meet with them and I was asked to consider them like my family. After thirty minutes of chit-chatting I bacame Radha’s honorary older sister. I was honored, I felt loved and lucky again for the opportunities I receive through this gift of photography.

In morning of their engagement party, Radha and Bala along with their parents had an intimate puja (prayer) at Bala’s parents’ residence. After the prayer, we drove over to a lake near Elk Grove for Radha and Bala’s photo session. They were on their traditional outfit, we took that opportunity to get some fine Indian bridal styled shots. Then we ran around in the sun for some fun pictures. On the same evening, Radha and Bala’s made it official at Radha’s parents house. Bala got down on his knees to ask her to marry her in front of all the family members. Of course, Radha said YES!

Radha is such a sweet hearted girl! Her and Bala make a beautiful couple. I was so glad to be a part of their special day; and the fact that I now have a family in town made my experience even more special.

Old Sacramento Enagagement : Raji + Rishi

What a fun shoot it was! Before going into this, I didn’t know that we would laugh so hard during the entire shoot. Rishi and Raji know how to have fun. The chemistry was infectious, I could see it in their eyes. I met Rishi and Raji a few months back when they were just starting out with the wedding planning. We felt the connection right away and I hoped to have the opportunity to photographed their wedding in a few months.

Last week we were in Old Sacramento photographing their engagement session. I was excited to explore the other side of Old Sac where I never photographed a session before. The weather was perfect for an afternoon in July. I couldn’t hope for the day to be any better. I’m so looking forward to having even more fun with them on their big wedding in October…can’t wait!

I met Arti a while back at a local bridal show. She was a vendor there; we talked and exchanged cards. About six months later I was thrilled to hear back from her. I was even more excited when she asked me to take her anniversary photos with her husband Vikram. So we picked a day and headed to dountown Sacramento for their anytime session. We had a great time there, it was also a great opportunity for us to know each other better, I believe we made a connection that would last for many, many years in the future. Sacramento Engagement Photography: Juliet + Bob

It was a cloudy day in Folsom, but that didn’t stop us from photographing Juliet and Bob’s engagement session that day. In fact, little bit of rain and cloud made it more fun for photos. I was able to get some great shots of the couple in old Folsom. Sutter street was completely empty, and the lighting was perfect for a session like this. Juliet and Bob are super cute together; I’m so excited for their wedding in coming June…

Folsom Engagement Photography: Bonnie + Brian

Do you ever think that you can just walk into the life of a stranger and feel that you are already a part of it? I felt that way with Bonnie and Brian. It was an instant connection! First it was a phone chat with Bonnie, then I met up with them at their home. With all honesty here, I was in love with the relationship this couple had. I was excited to know that I would be there to photograph their big day in September.

They were such great sports! On the day of their engagement shoot, I had scheduled the videographers to come and shoot a real life video of me shooting a real couple. I was beyond thrilled that B&B were there to experience this with me. They laughed their hearts out, they had fun, they were so in love. I asked Bonnie about what she wanted to capture for their engagement photos. She told me how happy they were to be in each other’s lives and that she would love to see their happiness in the pictures. They were so natural and easy to photograph. I could see how content she was in his arms and he was one happy man to have her by his side. Bonnie and Brian – I’m beyond thrilled and so looking forward to photographing your wedding this Fall.

San Diego Engagement: Mehnaz + Manny

Things have been pretty crazy lately. I have been travelling since last weekend shooting and working all over from Southern Cal to Southern States to South Tahoe. Well,Â one of the tripsÂ was for my day job. After an entire week of travel, I’m finally home and relaxed. I’m at a point that I have to skip posting sessions on blog ’cause I’m so behind processing them.Â Here’s a few from last weekend’s shootÂ in San Diego. They were from my friends Mehnaz and Manny’s engagement session.

Mehnaz and I were close friends in 3rd-4th grades. Not just classmates, we used to eat lunch togetherÂ during out lunch breaks. SheÂ was a dancer; I used to get suoer excitedÂ whenever she was on TV.Â Then she moved away to UnitedÂ States and we lost touch. Fate (AKA Facebook) brought usÂ back in touch. It’s not that I searched herÂ name on a friend finder. She was a contactÂ in my cousin’s friend list and I happened to see a comment she posted on my cousin’s page. BINGO…we are back in touch! Not only that,Â I’m shooting her wedding in Phoenix this Thanksgiving. Â Â

I had the pleasure of meeting Manny, Mehnaz’s finace, last weekend for the first time. I was so happy to see them so in love. Mehnaz is a dear friend of mine, I’m so excited to have the opportunity to photograph their wedding.

San Francisco Engagement: Nicole & JP

They fell in love in New York; it was a love at first sight, as JP said. They travelled back closer to home and settled in San Francisco. It was a pleasure shooting with Nicole and JP yesterday. Nicole wanted to shoot at the Baker Beach in San Francisco where they often visit with Como, their three year old Golden Retreiver. I was hoping for a brighter day but, hey, we were lucky that fog wasn’t all over the bay!! The Golden Gate bridge was half covered with the cloud, but we managed to capture a few glimpse of it in the background.

Nicole is a natural beauty. Her smile and looks are to die for. I loved the playful and fun side of the couple. It just made their personality shine through the images. Summer is always cold in San Francisco, but that didn’t stop Nicole and JP from having fun. It was a joy chatting with them about travel, food and all the common grounds we have. I’m soooo looking forward to their wine country wedding in about a month. I know it’s going to be incredible! Now enjoy a few from Nicole and JP’s engagement session on the Baker Beach.
