A Warm Welcome!

Greetings and welcome to my brand new, hand-spun blog+site. My photography journey has been incredible! It began with fun, then grew into passion, then I discovered profound love for it and there was no looking back. Five years later, I have this custom site to showcase what I love doing so much, the art of capturing life just the way I see it. Please look around, this site is a reflection of me. Enjoy exploring it.

Baker Beach Family Session : The McDermott Family

This year we met Rayna, David and Morgan at the Baker beach for their annual family session. How can we go wrong with the amazingly clear and sunny day in San Francisco! The view of the Golden Gate bridge made the perfect backdrop. Rayna and David’s little Morgan surprised me this year. We were friends right away! She smiled big this time and she was clearly having fun at the beach. I love the tress at the Baker beach. We walked in to the woods, played with pine cones and got some great shots of the family.

I can’t wait to see what Morgan will be like next year. It is one of my greatest pleasures to watch the families grow while I capture the moments of their lives. I’m sure it will be a new experience next year as Morgan grows and explores a new phase in life.

Roseville Family Portraits: The Bilardellos and the Hills

Meet my favorite family – The Billardellos, including the Hills (a Bilardello who became a Hill through the marriage to a Hill [who also goes by Sean] and formed their own family comprising Katie and Sean Hill. Is this confusing enough?) My story with this family goes all the way back to 2009 when I was contacted by Katie (now a Hill) to photograph her wedding to Sean in the spring of 2010. I photographed their wedding a year later and met with Katie’s family on the very same day. Little did I know that I would get so emotionally attached to them. That night after the wedding, I secretly wished to run into them in the mall or in a random Japanese buffet (again) so that I get to see them again.

The love this family has for each other is infectious. One can’t help but spread this to another. I can’t speak enough of Katie who makes me feel like a queen (yes, I can’t find a better word) everytime I get in touch with her, be it in person, via email or on facebook. I don’t know what I have done to deserve so much love. But I’m thankful that I have it and I sure am not giving up any of it. It brings tears of joy to my eyes to know that my passion has brought me so close to this family who makes me feel like their own. I can only hope to grow with this family as they grow and include new additions to their tree. It was such an honor to capture these images for them yesterday. Here’s is to many more of such happy memories…

Rocklin Maternity Photographs: Sandra

A couple months ago I met with Sandra, Brandon and Kaitlin at their house for Sandra’s maternity pictures. Sandra was on her seventh month, but she knew that her baby was going to arrive weeks before the original due date. The Lynch family was prepared for the arrival for Baby Autumn Faith. The love in the family was undescribable. Brandon is a firefighter for the City of Sacramento. On his day off, he loves spending time with his daighter Kaitlin. I could see how excited he was for the new baby.

Kaitlin, the super cutre big sister, was a darling. She was showing me her toys and her princess bed. Sandra was glowing that day, she looked beautiful in the pictures. I was so happy to capture the time as the Lynch family waited for the newest addition to the family.

Sacramento Portrait Photographer: The Wake Family

How do I begin this post! I have known Don from my early days in California. When I was all alone here, struggling without any friends in a new town where I knew no one but the people I just met at work, Don was one of the ones, at my work, who made me feel like a friend they had known for years. I remember the day when Don helped me bringing home the very first and only furniture for my new apartment…a papasan chair from Pier 1.

The chair was so wide that it wouldn’t fit in my car. I met Audra at the office Christmas party. That year, Don and Audra invited us (Jason was in Ca by that time) over to their family Christmas event; they didn’t want us to feel lonely and missing families during the holidays. I was extremely touched by the invite. Although we couldn’t make it to the party that day, I remain thankful for the kindness this couple had shown to us from the very beginning. I don’t think I ever told them how I felt about it. So, Don and Audra – if you are reading this…THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for making us feel like home.

Years have passed, all of us have gone through a lot over the years. But the biggest event of all has been the new addition to the Wake family. David Alan Wake joined the family just around the Thanksgiving time last year. Don and Audra were visiting Sacramento last week when I had a chance to meet little David for the very first time. He seemed to be the cutest little thing with the most beautiful smile and big, magical eyes. And his hair…priceless

I haven’t seen Don and Audra like this ever before, they are in love with this little man and he sure brings a lot of joy to this family. We met up again over their portrait session the following weekend. It was a joy capturing their family moments. I was getting a little teary looking at them while editing the images. I hope these bring back the memories of their time in California as they grow into the life in Texas.

  • OHANA PHOTOGRAPHERS: so so so cute! love that hair! you captured some great emotions nudrat :D

Roseville Family Portrait: Bains Family

I can’t explain how I enjoy seeing families every year during their annual photo shoots. Remember Bains family from here and here … this year we met again.

Feb, 21, 2011

And this isn’t your typical family photo shoot in a studio…every year we make this into a super fun family time for everybody. To my surprise, little Kashni was now talking and Jaap was the beautiful big sister even more responsible and loving than last time! The girls were all so pretty in shades of pink..it was the day before valentine’s day after all. This year we had a brand new motorcycle to play with. Daddy Bains had a new toy that we could not leave out for pictures. Then we headed to Old Sac to bring in the train track as the backdrop.

It was an awesome shoot with Gagan, Gurinder, Jaap and Kashni. I still can’t believe how fast the kids have grown. I’m truly blessed to have the opportunity to capture memories for this beautiful family. I wonder what it will be like next year…we already talked about some cool ideas for the 2012 shoot!! Can’t wait!
