Rocklin Maternity Photographs: Sandra

A couple months ago I met with Sandra, Brandon and Kaitlin at their house for Sandra’s maternity pictures. Sandra was on her seventh month, but she knew that her baby was going to arrive weeks before the original due date. The Lynch family was prepared for the arrival for Baby Autumn Faith. The love in the family was undescribable. Brandon is a firefighter for the City of Sacramento. On his day off, he loves spending time with his daighter Kaitlin. I could see how excited he was for the new baby.

Kaitlin, the super cutre big sister, was a darling. She was showing me her toys and her princess bed. Sandra was glowing that day, she looked beautiful in the pictures. I was so happy to capture the time as the Lynch family waited for the newest addition to the family.

Oh sweet summer! It’s the time of the year to hold outdoor parties! Recently I had a chance to shoot a baby/wedding combo celebration party hosted by a very special man, Bob Whitson. It was s party for Bob’s son Drew and beautiful Jackie. Bob is pretty much the root of the reason I’m here in California. Let me just say that he co-founded a high-tech start-up in Roseville and I happened to get a job there, which resulted in me moving to Nor Cal, and that made Jason to leave his job in KS, move here as well with a job in the same company, then we got marrried on the same day when Bob celebrates his wedding anniversary. See the connection here? It’s that simple.

I was thrilled and surprised when Bob contacted me to photograph Jackie and Drew’s event. I almost couldn’t believe it! It was such an honor! Thank you, Bob, for trusting me my technical and artistic abilities

The party was held at the Whitson’s enormous backyard! I loved all the colorful details Sandy picked out to create a great summer theme. The gumball machines as favors, delicious grilled cheese sandwiches, sliders, korean beef, love blossom seeds, the Salsa band, umbrellas, popcorn, snow-cones and what not! It was a beautiful celebration for Jackie and Drew. Jackie is super sweet, she is funny and loves to laugh. I’m so glad that I got to know her a bit that day. She was fun to talk with and she played along so well the whole time with her 8-month baby-belly! This is an exciting time for the Whitson family and I wish Drew and Jackie the very best.

Michelle’s Maternity || Sacramento Roseville Maternity photography

Talk about a mom-to-be who glows on her 35 week pregnancy!!! Ummmm….that would be Michelle. Look at her pictures, isn’t she gorgeous? The baby bump suits her really well I love the spirit she has, even on her difficult days she didn’t forget to put up a smile on her face and invite us in. I’m glad that I have the honor to have Trevor and Michelle as my friend and neighbor. Seriously, I don’t think that my neighborhood experience could get any better.

I had the opportunity to photograph M&T’s beautiful wedding at Tahoe not too long ago. And now with baby Liam on the way, I had the opportunity to photograph her maternity session. It was a super cold day. One of those Sac winter days when we can’t expect much but rain and wind. Luckily, we started a bit early, so were able to get back home before the rain started. We went down to my favorite neighborhood park. The park looks wild right now, so lush and green. It was brave of Michelle to climb up and down the slope to get to the nicer parts of the park. I don’t know how she did it, but the pictures came out great for sure Trevor is always quite an entertainer. I have always enjoyed shooting with him, he made my job that much easier by making it so much fun.

Trevor and Michelle – I’m so happy for you guys! I’m thrilled that I have this opportunity of capturing your moments and sharing this incredible ride with you. Thank you so much for having me there. I hope to share many more years of journey with you.

Allyson || Maternity

Sunday was the super bowl day. But I’m not much into watching games, I had waaaayyyyy more fun shooting Allyson’s maternity session at her parents’ house in south Sacramento. Previously I was a bit worried about the possibility of rain and cold weather that weekend. But it turned out that we literally picked the best day for her shoot. It was bright and sunny and the temperature was at the 60′s here in Sac. It couldn’t be any better in February.

Allyson is a glowing mom-to-be on her eighth month of pregnancy! She looks fresh and absolutely gorgeous. She was open to different ideas and we were able to play with many of them. We also had the perfect backdrop. Her parents’ backyard was one of a kind! There was a koi pond, a little bridge, cactus, a huge palm tree(I love palm trees and I want one in my backyard) rocks, walkways, etc. I love how the pictures turned out. She looked like a Greek Goddess. So peaceful and beautiful! See her for yourself )

Apple picking at Applehills

Apple Hills, CA(30-mins from Sacramento, 1-hr from my house) is well known for the apple orchards and beautiful vineyards. You can go there during the apple season and pick your own apple. Jason and I go there every year, but we return home with a big, delicious dutch apple pie. We never get to pick apples ’cause the season is over by the time we get there. This year we tagged along with a few other friends who were as enthusiastic about apple picking at the Apple Hills.

We ended up going to an orchard which was also a vineyard. The owner said “Grapes are free if you can find any.” So we walked through the grape vines in search for grapes; we ended up finding a lot!

Sunny, my friend, loves apple. It was fun watching her going from tree to tree to pick the golden delicious. We ended up with buckets full of grapes and apples by end of the time.

My friend Sheila also joined us. She is expecting her baby in November. She is gorgeous and glowing at her seven-month pregnancy! I am very excited for her to start the new family soon with her new baby boy!

It was an extremely hot day! You’d think that the weather would be cool enough there since summer had officially ended a few days back. But it was upper 90′s at the Apple Hills. Despite the heat we had a lot of fun! It was a success this time; we managed to make it there during the apple season Not only we returned home with an apple pie, but also with freshly picked apples and grapes from Applehills.

Roseville Maternity Portraits: Katarina

Earlier today I headed out with Katarina and her family to a nearby park for her maternity shoot. The goal was also to have a lifestyle shoot with the Horton family to capture some happy family moments. Katarina and Joe are my neighbors(did I ever tell that I really like my neighbors??), and their little boy Nicholas is a super cutie pie! Kat is expecting her second baby in less than two months. This was my first maternity shoot ever, I had so much fun shooting!!! I hope they enjoyed as much as I did.
